Friday night’s game between the Tulane Green Wave and UCF Knights at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando has been rescheduled due to the imminent threat from Hurricane Matthew.
The two universities agreed to postpone the game until Saturday, Nov. 5.
“Taking into account all the latest projections for Hurricane Matthew, we have to keep the safety of everyone involved in these events at the forefront of our decision-making,” UCF athletic director Daniel J. White said in a statement. “We appreciate our friends at Tulane understanding and working with us through this situation. Commissioner Mike Aresco and the American Athletic Conference staff have been very helpful as well.”
Broadcasting information and a kickoff time will be set at a later time.
“This was the best decision to ensure the safety of all involved,” Tulane Director of Athletics Troy Dannen said. “Our entire Tulane community extends any support and assistance that may be needed to our friends at UCF. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who may affected by this hurricane.”
