The No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers will reportedly be without leading rusher Jalen Hurd for Saturday’s top ten clash with the No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies.
According to John Brice of 247Sports, Hurd has been nursing an upper body injury throughout the week which kept him from practice on Thursday. It is expected that head coach Butch Jones will give junior Alvin Kamara the nod for the important SEC matchup.
This season, Hurd leads all Vols players with 407 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Kamara, meanwhile, has rushed for 407 rushing yards, while adding seven receptions for 82 yards as a receiver. Kamara has two touchdowns on the year.
The loss of Hurd is a big one of Tennessee, but Kamara has NFL talent and has proven the ability to break off a big play. He also adds more of a dynamic as a receiver.
Kickoff between the No. 9 Vols and No. 8 Aggies is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
