Julius has become the target of these kind of hits in recent weeks. He was drilled in a similar fashion last week in the Nittany Lions game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Both players were ejected following the hit.

This one, carried out by Maryland player Isaiah Davis came well after the whistle has been blown. The hits come in the name of retaliation, as the 258 pound Lions kicker uses his size and isn’t shy about doling out punishment. He is often seen in the thick of kickoffs trying to bring down the ball-carrier.

Earlier in the week Julius revealed via his Facebook page that he struggled with an eating disorder and missed a good deal of time with the team this summer as he underwent treatment.

The ejections are a severe punishment, but thus far they haven’t deterred other teams from making Julius a target. It’ll be interesting to see if they continue.
