A slow start to the season for LSU’s Leonard Fournette has just hit another speed bump. On Wednesday, interim head coach Ed Orgeron addressed the media when he provided an update on the star running back’s health.
It was originally believed that Fournette would be cleared last weekend in time for the Tigers’ SEC clash with Florida, but the game was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.
Now, it appears as though Fournette will not be healthy this week.
Orgeron provided the update saying Fournette has not returned to practice and is unlikely to play against Southern Miss on Saturday afternoon.
Orgeron on Fournette:
"I don't think he's going to play. He hasn't practiced and I would not expect him to be ready this Saturday."

The junior running back has missed two games this season due to injury against Jacksonville State and Missouri. Fournette has recorded 386 yards and two touchdowns in three appearances this year.
Without the star rusher in the lineup yet again, the Tigers will once again turn to Derrius Guice, who has 402 yards and four scores on the ground in relief of Fournette.
Kickoff in Baton Rouge is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
