Thursday night meant the start of a new week of NFL action, but it also created a moment commentator Jim Nantz was not expecting.
During the game, Deadspin noticed a hot mic moment during the national anthem, as members of the Miami Dolphins took a knee to protest social injustice in the country during the Star Spangled Banner.
In that moment, it appeared as though Nantz was criticizing the players who took a knee.
Nantz could be heard saying, “They’re going to keep kneeling as long as we have cameras in their face.”

Nantz has yet to comment on the situation, but it will be interesting to see if he does.
To be fair, the comments aren’t that outrageous. Nantz was simply stating that the more the media covers the issue, the more inclined people will be to join the cause. That’s reality.
