The mixed martial arts world was turned on its head Monday afternoon, thanks to former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre.
St-Pierre appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani when he revealed that he has terminated his contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The news means St-Pierre, one of the greatest fighters of all-time, is now officially a free agent.
However, it looks like the GSP free agency saga is just getting started.
GSP says his lawyer terminated his contract after giving UFC a deadline to fight on his old deal. Sounds like it's not a mutual decision.

St-Pierre had recently been in talks to return to the UFC, but it appears as though the two sides could not reach an agreement. As a result, St-Pierre and his agent can now begin fielding offers.
But since it appears that the decision was not mutual, we could see a legal battle brewing.
What happens next remains to be seen, but it will certainly be worth watching. Who would you like to see St-Pierre fight if he returns and in what promotion?
