The Oregon State Beavers will be fighting an uphill battle this weekend, as quarterback Darrell Garretson has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Garretson broke his ankle in the Beavers 19-14 loss to the Utah Utes on Saturday.
To further compound the problems that Oregon State is facing under center, second-string quarterback Conor Blount is currently on crutches and has been ruled out for this weekend’s game against the No. 5 Washington Huskies.
That leaves third-string sophomore and alliteration aficionado Marcus McMaryion at the helm on Saturday.
McMaryion entered Saturday’s game late in the fourth quarter and quickly orchestrated a touchdown drive that cut the Utes lead to 5. He would finish the game 5-of-9 for 76 yards and a touchdown. That success has been difficult to sustain for him, though. In his career, which includes nine games, he has completed only 42 percent of his passes and has more interceptions than touchdowns.

Oklahoma State has only true freshman Mason Moran and former quarterback turned receiver Seth Collins on the roster behind McMaryion.
