The highly-anticipated Big 12 Board of Directors meeting was held on Monday and it looks like bad news for those who were hoping for the conference to expand.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel, the conference voted against expansion but are still exploring further television revenue opportunities from ESPN and FOX Sports.

Sorry, BYU, Cincinnati and Houston fans.
The conference has yet to officially announce any news but a press conference is set for this evening. Unless there is a drastic last-second change of plans or Thamel’s sources are mistaken, it looks like the Big 12 will remain with ten programs for the foreseeable future.
We will update the story with more information as it becomes available.
