On Sunday afternoon, reports surfaced that Fresno State is set to fire head coach Tim DeRuyter after a disappointing 1-7 start the season. It took only minutes after the news to break for college football fans to begin sharing their opinion on who the next Bulldogs coach should be.
The reaction was almost a clear consensus: Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.
Twitter wasted no time campaigning to “Bring Lane Kiffin” home. For those who don’t know, Kiffin spent the 1994–1996 college football seasons as the quarterback at Fresno State. Then, from 1997–1998, Kiffin served as an assistant for the Bulldogs to officially begin his coaching career.
It seems like the perfect situation for Kiffin to take another crack at head coaching.
The immediate reaction was so incredible that one fan immediately began a GoFundMe campaign to bring Lane Kiffin back to Fresno State.

Kiffin's salary this year ($1.4m) is almost the same as DeRuyter's ($1.5m). https://t.co/Rbd6I5Q5Rm

Yeah, the Lane Kiffin to Fresno State talk is only just beginning. It should be a fun couple of weeks.
