Video: Xavier’s Edmond Sumner has ridiculous hops

College basketball fans are going to want to keep an eye on the Xavier Musketeers throughout the 2016-17 season, especially high-flying redshirt sophomore guard Edmond Sumner.

During Musketeer Madness on Saturday night, Xavier held its annual dunk contest.

When it was Sumner’s turn to flash his skills, he decided to bring the house down and win the competition with an incredible dunk from the free throw line. Sumner defeated freshmen Tyrique Jones and Quentin Goodin for this year’s crown.

Here is the ridiculous jam:

Last season, Sumner averaged 11.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

The 6-foot-6 guard figures to once again be a big part of the Musketeer success on the court while also hoping to establish himself as one of the most exciting players in the nation.

Thanks to this little showing at Musketeer Madness, we’d say his 2016-17 campaign is off to a strong start.

Xavier opens the season on Nov. 11 against Lehigh.
