Texas Tech star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has picked up a national honor for his record-breaking performance against the Oklahoma Sooners last weekend.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Mahomes has been named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week.
Mahomes set an FBS record with 819 yards of total offense and scored seven total touchdowns in Texas Tech’s 59-66 loss to No. 16 Oklahoma. Mahomes added 734 passing yards, tying the FBS record for single game passing yards. On the ground, he added a career-high 85 yards and two touchdowns.
The junior signal-caller has 3,313 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions through the air this season.
