As the season progresses we inch ever closer to the College Football Playoffs. The debate will rage well after the teams have been announced and someone is bound to be left out controversially.
In an ESPN video that features Tom Rinaldi that is part political satire and part Rinaldi comedy hour (it’s really only three minutes), he discusses the first round of upcoming committee selections.
Rinaldi plays all three parts, both debaters and the moderator.
While peppering his College Football Playoff takes with presidential debate tropes, Rinaldi mentions that the PAC-12 is the most likely to be left out of the playoffs this season. The conference has been wildly disappointing and doesn’t feature any powerhouse programs this season. He also tackles the issue of playoff expansion from four to eight.
Keeping with the tone, he makes a couple of references to building a wall and believing in the system and making college football great again. It appears that Rinaldi is trying to crossover to the rare sports-comedy genre.

While my hat goes off to him for his bravery, just stick to tweeting breaking news Tom.
