Purdue football team miserably fails on attempted trick play

Trick plays are, well, tricky. When executed correctly, they are exciting, clever, and thrilling for an audience to watch. But when they go badly, man it’s really embarrassing.

Purdue recently was the latter. If they pull it off, this is a very different story. But…they didn’t.

A variation on the fumblerooski, it appears. They didn’t fool a single person on the defense. The play results in a tackle behind the line of scrimmage and a bruised ego for the offensive coordinator.

You can’t blame Purdue for trying to manufacture a spark though. They’re currently getting lapped by the Penn State Nittany Lions, 48-24.

The Nittany Lions are fresh off an upset over college football playoff hopeful Ohio State. Huge underdogs in that game, the Nittany Lions scratched out a three-point victory over the Buckeyes.
