Les Miles hires new agent in search for next job

Les Miles is looking to make another team a national champion.

Miles, former coach of the LSU Tigers who was let go after an 18-13 loss to Auburn earlier this season has added high-powered agent Trace Armstrong to aid him in his search. Armstrong also represents Ohio State’s Urban Meyer, Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly, Houston’s Tom Herman and Penn State’s James Franklin.

Miles must attempt to find another coaching job as part of his buyout with LSU that will pay him $9.6 million.

“I’m fighting like heck trying to win a championship at another place” said Miles in a recent interview.

If Miles is successful in finding another job, his buyout will be mitigated against the salary of his new position. He currently makes more than $133,000 every paycheck from the buyout.

Miles was the winningest coach in LSU history at the time of his canning. He had a .770 winning percentage and led the Tigers to a bowl game in each of his 11 seasons with the team. He will find another job this offseason, and with the coaching carousel sure to turn, there are a number of programs that will vie for his services.
