Ed Orgeron: Leonard Fournette ‘the best player in the country’

This weekend, ESPN College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge for the SEC clash between LSU and Alabama.

The Tigers will be looking to upend the No. 1 team in the nation, and interim head coach Ed Orgeron knows LSU will need to rely heavily on star running back Leonard Fournette if there is any chance at success.

And if Orgeron’s recent comments are any indication, LSU should be just fine.

“For sure. He’s the best player in the country. No question,” Orgeron said, according to Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News. “His want-to, to have success (against) Alabama is as high as I’ve seen.”

It should be interesting to see if Fournette can bring that same want-to against Alabama on Saturday night.

Kickoff between LSU and the Crimson Tide is set for 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
