Ed Orgeron ‘could lock up’ head coaching job at LSU

Ed Orgeron could effectively have usurped the role of head coach at the LSU with a 3-1 finish. There are rumors that Orgeron wouldn’t necessarily need to win out to lock up the job that was previously held by Les Miles.

With a game against Alabama, it appears that with wins over Arkansas, Florida and Texas A&M, Orgeron will have the “interim” removed from his title.

The news comes in the midst of reports that former coach Les Miles has been trying to put together a staff, complete with coordinators. Orgeron was outspoke in the wake of the Miles firing, saying that the players weren’t “having fun” under Miles.

LSU has gone undefeated under Orgeron so far and with Leonard Fournette running at his Heisman hopeful form again they will be closer to what we are accustomed to seeing from the Tigers. The Miles firing was received with heavy scrutiny, but if Orgeron can go 4-0 the rest of the way he will make it very difficult for the Tigers to go elsewhere with the job opening.

3-1 might be good enough too, though.
