LSU’s Colby Delahoussaye carries the legacies of Sam Foltz, Mike Sadler

Earlier this year, tragedy claimed the lives of two young men playing football at the University of Wisconsin and Michigan State University. Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler, respectively, passed in a fiery car collision returning from a football camp.

Fellow collegiate kicker, LSU’s Colby Delahoussaye, was in the car with them as well.

On Saturday, ESPN College GameDay released an emotional feature with Delahoussaye recalling the accident and explaining why he carries the legacies of his fallen friends withhim every week.

Delahoussaye had trouble reconciling to himself the loss of his two friends and his comparatively minimal injuries. He seems to be taking it and turning it into a positive in his life.

The love and support that he has received from the parents of the young men who passed has eased a lot of his worries.

Tributes have been taking place for the two universities at several of their away games this season. Sometimes with decals, roses at the yard marker of their jersey number, sometimes with signed jerseys. When something like this happens, it transcends the realm of football and invoke humanity across the league.
