Syracuse will wear military themed helmets against NC State

The Syracuse football team will be wearing special helmets to honor the military in their game against North Carolina State this weekend.

Syracuse unveiled the helmets on social media Wednesday.

Saturday is military appreciation day at The Carrier Dome for the home Syracuse Orangemen and they’ll be looking for a big win against the Wolfpack. However, they may have to do so without their starting quarterback Eric Dungey, who was injured early in last week’s contest against the Clemson Tigers.

He is currently awaiting test results that will either clear him or keep him out action this weekend.

The Orange sit at 4-5 and still have NC State, Florida State and Pitt on their schedule. They will need to win at least two of those games if they have any hopes of being bowl eligible this season. NC State will not be an easy out though. They have played every team tough and their only blowout loss came to an angry Louisville team.

The Wolfpack also need to win two-of-three to be bowl eligible.

Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
