Pitt stuns No. 2 Clemson on last-second field goal

There will be a major shakeup in the college football rankings and College Football Playoff picture next week when the new polls are released, thanks to the Pittsburgh Panthers.

On Saturday night, Pitt went into Death Valley and pulled off the remarkable upset, stunning No. 2 Clemson on a last-second field goal. Panthers Kicker Chris Blewitt lined up for the 48-yard field goal and did the opposite of what his name would suggest.

After the kick was good, Pitt came away with the shocking 43-42 victory.

Clemson suffered their first loss of the season, despite star quarterback Deshaun Watson throwing for 580 yards and three touchdowns. The problem was Watson also tossed three interceptions.

James Conner paced the Pitt offense on the ground with 132 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Nathan Peterman threw for an impressive five scores.

It is the biggest win of Narduzzi’s brief time in Pittsburgh and it now adds some extra intrigue to the ACC Championship picture as the season comes to a close.
