The Baylor Bears are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and are looking for a spark after starting quarterback Seth Russell was lost for the season due to injury, so the return of running back Shock Linwood comes at the perfect time.
Linwood is set to return to the lineup this weekend after serving his one-game suspension for attitude issues.
“I’m expecting we’re going to get a guy that comes back and does all the things we want him to do,” coach Jim Grobe said at his Monday press conference.
“I’m a guy I really don’t have a lot of patience when guys aren’t being good teammate kind of deals. But I like to give guys reminders once in awhile their behavior is more important than their ability on the football field.”
Linwood was reportedly suspended for shoving an assistant coach during Baylor’s loss to TCU earlier this month.
This season, Linwood has rushed for 594 yards and two touchdowns.
Baylor returns to action this weekend against Kansas State at McLane Stadium. It marks the final home game of the season for the Bears, so Linwood and the team’s other seniors will be honored in front of the home crowd.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
