The annual Jimbo Fisher-LSU Tigers rumors have once again begun to circulate as the college football season winds down.
LSU athletic director Joe Alleva has not hidden the fact that he covets Fisher and would like the Florida State head coach to lead the Tigers, but Fisher isn’t quite yet ready to discuss to possibility of leaving Tallahassee.
“I’m not going to talk about any jobs,” Fisher told Safid Deen of the Orlando Sentinel. “I love being at Florida State. I love being here, and I’m just getting ready for Syracuse. That’s the last thing I’m going to say that. No offense to anybody or anything else. I love being here.”
Fisher previously served as an offensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers when the team won the national championship in 2003.
If LSU were to hire Fisher, they would have to pay Florida State a $5 million buyout.
Of course, LSU could ultimately decide to remove the interim label from Ed Orgeron, but for now it looks like Alleva will once again spend the offseason in pursuit of Jimbo Fisher. The only question is whether Fisher will bite this time around.
