John Calipari shares hilarious exchange with kid in press conference

Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari had a fun back and forth exchange with a young reporter from Sports Illustrated for Kids.

When asked to rank Malik Monk among the other elite freshman talent that has passed through the Wildcats basketball program, Calipari did more than just provide another dreck and dull answer:

I think I speak for all of us when I say: Sports Illustrated for Kids actually uses kids to do the reporting? How long has that been going on for?

Coaches typically don’t make it a secret that press conferences are an unwanted obligation. This kid really livened up the room though. He was incredibly confident to continue to respond and not shrink under the pressure of having the whole room listen to him.

I’m sure there are a few former Kentucky standouts who might disagree with his assessments, but this was certainly more fun than you usually see in a press conference.
