The Miami basketball program got some great news on Wednesday morning when five-star guard Lonnie Walker announced he has committed to the Hurricanes.
Walker made his announcement on social media.
“First off, I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me through this long journey, but it’s time for me to take this next step and move on and commit to University of Miami,” Walker wrote in a statement.
“I feel like it’s the best for me, on and off the court and will make greater individual on the court. Thanks to all the schools that recruited me but I’m, officially a Cane.”

Walker chose Miami over Villanova and Arizona.
Walker, a standout from Reading, Penn., is currently rated as the No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania and the No. 3 recruit at his position. It’s a major get for Jim Larrañaga’s squad.
