Jake Long honors Bo Schembechler on 10-year anniversary of his death

Love for your college alma mater always runs deep, especially in the sports world. So it comes as no surprise that former Michigan Wolverines star Jake Long took today to remember one of the school’s true legends.

Long took to Twitter on Thursday to share a heartfelt message honoring former head coach Bo Schembechler.

Ten years ago today, Schembechler passed away, so Long took a moment to remember the legendary coach and everything he has done for the team, the team, the team.

Schembechler passed away when Long was a student-athlete for the Wolverines.

Bo is everything that is good about Michigan football. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since he passed away,” Long wrote.  “So humbled, honored and emotional that I was able to know and learn from Coach Schembechler. He was loved and respected by so many…

“It’s been 10 years but feels like just yesterday that he talked to our team for the last time. THANK YOU Coach. We miss you and love you Go Blue!”

I’m sure most Michigan alum feel that way and it’s great to see players who have gone through the program continuing to remember its rich history and the greatness that was Bo Schembechler.

We hope you’re up there resting in paradise, coach.
