Kate Upton won Twitter earlier this month when she put MLB writers on blast for giving Rick Porcello the AL Cy Young Award over her man Justin Verlander.
Upton’s rant included the winning line, “I thought I was the only person allowed to f*** Justin Verlander.”
After the comments, Upton received some backlash, but she’s not backing down.
Upton discussed her issue with the Cy Young voting, saying she wasn’t upset that Porcello won, just that the voting system is so flawed.
“My comments have nothing to do with Rick personally. They had to do with what I see as a flawed voting system,” Upton told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. “I hope the attention my comments are generating motivates positive change in MLB, for instance, not allowing voters to send in their ballot a week before the season is finished.”
Verlander had six more first-place votes than Porcello.
Don’t worry, Kate. There are millions of Americans out there still trying to figure out how someone can receive more votes without winning.
