On Saturday, the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes topped the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines in a double-overtime classic. The win sent Penn State to the Big Ten Championship Game, meaning Ohio State would have to remain in the top four despite reaching the conference tile game.
So, could the lack of an extra game and missing out on the conference championship cost the Buckeyes a spot in college football’s final four?
Well, not if you listen to ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
Following the game, Herbstreit answered some questions from fans on social media and shared his belief that there is no way the Buckeyes will be dropping out of the playoff picture.
They were already #2 and just beat # 3. They're not moving out of the top 4. https://t.co/Fxfn6hG6An

The only question now is: what deserving team and conference champion will be left out of the playoff if Ohio State takes their spot?
The next College Football Playoff rankings come out on Tuesday, so we should have a clearer idea then.
