The Indiana Hoosiers have reportedly fired head football coach Kevin Wilson, according to reports on Thursday.
The Indianapolis Star was first to report the news.
Indiana University will announce the dismissal of football coach Kevin Wilson at press conference at 6 this evening, according to sources in the athletic department.
Wilson is 26-47 in six seasons with the Hoosiers, but his dismissal does come at a puzzling time.
Indiana decided to move on from Wilson after the Hoosiers reached their second consecutive bowl game, finishing 6-6 on the season, a far cry from his inaugural 1-11 season.
Indiana’s associate head coach Tom Allen is expected to serve as the team’s interim coach until a permanent replacement is announced.
