Since the early weeks of the season, Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson was the clear front-runner for the Heisman Trophy. However, as the Cardinals lost some momentum at the end of the season, the gap between Jackson and the rest of the field closed.
Because of the gap closing, it looks like one fan went ahead and pulled the trigger early to insure a positive return.
One fan who placed a $100 bet that Jackson would win the Heisman sold his ticket on Prop Swap, the first marketplace to buy and sell active Nevada sportsbook tickets, for a cool $8,500.
If Jackson wins, the ticket is worth $10,000, so the seller is only leaving $1,500 on the table.
Considering he will still walk away with a $7,400 profit, it was a fantastic investment. The buyer of the ticket, meanwhile, will add that $1,500 to his bank roll if Jackson walks away from New York with the Heisman in hand.
It must be nice to be able to drop $8,500 just to earn another $1,500 profit.
