The Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the most impressive 2017 recruiting classes, second only to Alabama, and it added even more talent late Thursday night when five-star linebacker Baron Browning committed to the program.
Browning, a Texas native who is the No. 2 linebacker in the country and No. 9 overall prospect, is a major get for the Buckeyes after he also considered Alabama and the in-state Longhorns.
The 6-foot-3, 230 pound linebacker announced his decision with a statement on Twitter.
With the addition of Browning, there is a possibility the Buckeyes could now leapfrog Alabama for the top recruiting class in the country.
The Buckeyes now have six five-star recruits, nine four-stars and one three-star. Alabama, meanwhile, has 23 total recruitings, including five five-star players and 12 four-stars.
There is a reason these teams have been perennial contenders in recent years.
