There is some good news for the Wisconsin football team ahead of today’s Big Ten Championship clash with the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Leading up to the conference title game, the Badgers had listed quarterback Alex Hornibrook as questionable after suffering a head injury last weekend against Minnesota. However, according to head coach Paul Chryst, the redshirt-freshman will be available.
“Each day this week he’s progressed, so I think that he’ll be available to play,” Chryst said, via ESPN.com.
Hornibrook had been splitting time with fifth-year senior Bart Houston down the final stretch of the season, so that will likely continue on Saturday as the Badgers carefully monitor his status.
Kickoff between the No. 6 Badgers and No. 8 Nittany Lions is set for 8 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on FOX.
The winner will need some help if they hope to jump into the College Football Playoff, but the consolation prize will be a Rose Bowl appearance against likely either Colorado or USC.
