The Clemson football program landed a major player on the recruiting trail this week, after quarterback Trevor Lawrence committed to the program late Thursday night.
Lawrence, a standout at Cartersville High School in Georgia, is the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation for the Class of 2018.
“After a long and thoughtful process, I’m blessed to announce that I am committed to Clemson University,” Lawrence wrote in a brief statement on social media.

Along with being the No. 1 quarterback in the nation, Lawrence is the top-rated overall player in the state of Georgia and the nation’s No. 1 prospect regardless of position.
Clemson also has a commitment from Hunter Johnson, the No. 2 quarterback of the 2017 class.
It’s safe to say that once Deshaun Watson leaves for the pros that Dabo Swinney and company will have plenty of young, talented options to plug into the offense. The future is looking bright.
