College football 2016 bowl schedule and TV info for December 17

It’s that time of year, folks. On Saturday afternoon, the college football 2016 bowl season begins with an action-packed slate of games beginning at noon ET and running through the end of the day.

In total, there will be six games throughout the day, beginning with UNC Central vs. Grambling in the Celebration Bowl at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The most intriguing matchup of the day will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, when the Houston Cougars take the field for the first time since Tom Herman accepted the Texas Longhorns coaching job. Houston will take on San Diego State, led by star running back Donnel Pumphrey who was second in the FBS in rushing this season, in the Las Vegas Bowl.

The action will wrap up with the New Orleans Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome between Southern Miss and Louisiana-Lafayette.

5:30 PM- Camellia Bowl: Appalachian State vs. Toledo (ESPN)

5:30 PM- Cure Bowl: UCF vs. Arkansas State (CBSSN)
Announcers: Carter Blackburn, Aaron Taylor, Jenny Dell

9 PM- New Orleans Bowl: Southern Miss vs. Louisiana-Lafayette (ESPN)
