Syracuse’s Tyler Lydon sustains achillies injury

Syracuse proved to be too much for Eastern Michigan, handling them easily in their 105-57 in their matchup on Monday night. That doesn’t mean that the Orange didn’t leave the game with something of a loss, though.

Tyler Lydon sustained an injury to his achillies tendon after coming down with a rebound late in the first half.

Lydon was taken to the locker room at that point and did not return for the second half. Lydon would have been available to play in the second half if he was needed, but the game was never in doubt and he remained on the bench as a precaution.

Expecting everything to go well, Lydon could be available for the Orangemen’s next game against St. Johns on Wednesday. Coach Jim Boeheim said he still didn’t know if he would be available to play but did not appear concerned.

Lydon’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious, which is good news for Syracuse. Averaging just over 31 points per minute, Lydon has added nearly 12 points and over 7 rebounds per game this season.
