Georgia Tech OL Eason Fromayan forgoing senior season for NASCAR career

With bowl season upon us, it’s abut this time of the year when players start to announce their intentions for the upcoming football season; whether they intend to return and play collegiately, or if they intend to “declare” for the NFL Draft and go pro.

A Georgia Tech offensive lineman has decided to join the professional ranks, but not of football.

Eason Fromayan will now seek a position with a pit crew in NASCAR. He is believed to have some connections within the industry. He will participate in the Taxslayer Bowl game with his Yellow Jackets teammates, but will put football in his past after that.

Fromayan has been an avid NASCAR fan since his childhood and feels that the skill acquired from playing football will translate well to working on the pit crew.

The speed, strength and teamwork experience are highly valued in both lines of work. If nothing else, working in the pit is a lot safer than playing along the offensive line in professional football.

One has to wonder if future health played a factor into Fromayan’s decision.
