Mark Hunt, Alistair Overeem set for UFC 209 showdown

Mixed martial arts fans are in for a treat. Late Tuesday night, reports surfaced that a heavyweight showdown between Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem is set for UFC 209 in Las Vegas on March 4.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN was first to report the news.

However, there is a catch.

According to Hunt, who has been upset with the UFC since Brock Lesnar was granted a waiver for their fight at UFC 200 before ultimately failing a drug test, he will not step into the cage with Overeem unless the UFC puts a clause in his contract to protect him in case Overeem fails a test of his own.

“I will not fight without this clause,” Hunt said on his website, MarkHunt.tv. “I’ve already fought three dopers in a row and I’m not going to fight again without security. All I want is a fair go and an even playing field.”

Hunt and Overeem previously faced off at DREAM 5 in June of 2008. Overeem was victorious, after securing a keylock just over a minute into the fight.
