How about this piece of Flashback Friday greatness? On Friday, the fine folks at FloWrestling released a video from a 1998 college wrestling match between mixed martial arts stars Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz, who are set to face off in the main event of Bellator 170 on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The two have exchanged heated words ahead of their bout next month and Ortiz revealed the feud with Sonnen began on January 23, 1998 in “The American Gangster’s” home state of Oregon.
In that match, Sonnen, then wrestling at Oregon, was able to pin California State University at Bakersfield’s Ortiz in just 44 seconds with a headlock.
