Video: Cincinnati basketball avoids upset with OT buzzer beater

The Cincinnati basketball program was nearly upset by Marshall at Fifth Third Arena on Thursday night, but senior guard Troy Caupain saved the day for the No. 24 Bearcats.

With a few seconds left on the clock in overtime, Marshall and Cincinnati were tied at 91 points a piece before Caupain successfully converted a floater to beat the buzzer and give the Bearcats a 93-91 lead with .7 seconds left on the clock.

Marshall tried a full court shot hoping for a miracle of their own, but it was unsuccessful as Cincinnati advanced to 10-2 on the season.

Next up for Cincinnati is a road trip to Philadelphia’s Liacouras Center to take on Temple on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
