Penn State’s Jason Cabinda returning for senior season

On Wednesday, Penn State linebacker Jason Cabinda put to rest any concerns over whether he would be leaving State College for the NFL.

Cabinda announced on social media that he has decided to return for his senior season.

“It’s an absolute honor to be able to wear the Blue and White on Saturdays,” Cabinda said in a statement released on Twitter. “After speaking to those closest to me, who have my best interest at heart, I believe it would be best to completely focus on beating USC in the Rose Bowl.

“I am very excited to announce that I will be returning for my senior year and holding off entering the NFL draft for another year.”

This season, Cabinda recorded 69 tackles, one sack and three passes defensed. He missed five games this season because of an injury.

Penn State faces off against USC in the Rose Bowl on Monday, Jan. 2. Kickoff between the Nittany Lions and Trojans in Pasadena is set for 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
