Video: Chase Field transforms to football field for Cactus Bowl

With the 2016 college football bowl season in full swing, there are plenty of sports venues across the nation preparing to host games. There are also a handful of baseball stadiums that have been forced to transform into football fields in order to serve as host venues.

For Chase Field in Arizona, home of the MLB’s Diamondbacks, that meant some hard work to prepare for Tuesday night’s Cactus Bowl between Boise State and Baylor.

This wasn’t the first time that Chase Field has hosted a football game, but it is the first time the Diamondbacks shared a timelapse video to show exactly what takes place during the transformation from baseball diamond to gridiron.

That’s a week’s work of hard work to prepare for the bowl game.

Baylor certainly appreciated the groundscrew, after securing a 31-12 win over Boise State on the makeshift field.
