Mark Stoops erupts during halftime, has to be calmed down

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops doesn’t like the way the game is being called in today’s TaxSlayer Bowl. After getting into a shouting match with Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson earlier in the game, his adrenaline was already pumping when he went into the halftime break.

Stoops, whose shouting match took place during an injury timeout that saw one of his offensive lineman laying on the turf, had to be restrained following an outburst on his way back to the locker room.

Kentucky currently trails by 13 points early in the fourth quarter. They failed to get into the end zone until the QB-WR connection of Johnson to Baker came to met on a touchdown with just over 13 points to go.

Stoops can’t be happy with the way his team has played to this point but this may be the sign of the tide changing. Kentucky, who was 7-5 this season, has been stifled to this point. They’ll need quick stops on defense and points on every possession from here on out to win the game in regulation.
