Well, this is certainly embarrassing, unless you are Louisville women’s basketball coach Jeff Walz. Then, it’s genius.
The Duke women’s basketball team was fooled in a big way to start the third quarter of their game against Louisville. With the majority of the Cardinals team lining up on the wrong side of the court, and only one player lining up in the “backcourt” for the Cardinals, they were effectively able to catch the Lady Blue Devils napping and race down the court for an easy score.
Louisville senior guard Briahanna Jackson took the pass in for the easy layup, with a smile plastered on her face the entire way.

Look at the look of pure elation on Jackson’s face as she sees the open basket. Nothing but net in front of her. This is the kind of thing that is difficult to pull off in middle-school aged basketball games, let alone in the highly competitive collegiate ranks between two well-regarded programs.
It might be really early in the year, but I think it’s safe to say this will be on some blooper reels when the “worst off 2017” stuff starts to roll around in 12 months.
