Former Kansas Jayhawks quarterback Ryan Willis is reportedly set to transfer to Blacksburg to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies after just two seasons in Lawrence, according to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports.
Evan Watkins of 247 Sports added to the report, stating Willis will join the team for spring workouts as a walk-on.
The former four-star recruit started a majority of his freshman season in 2015, before a shoulder injury prematurely ended his season. Willis then suffered another injury during the offseason which caused him to lose the starting job to Montell Cozart, who replaced him in 2015. Willis got another chance to start this past season, but started just two games.
Willis will be forced to sit out next season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, before attempting to compete for the Hokies starting job.
Willis recorded 2,530 yards, 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions during his time at Kansas.
