Joe Thomas rips NCAA, Oregon football program

|

Cleveland Browns All-Pro offensive lineman Joe Thomas took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to rip the NCAA and Oregon football program after three Ducks players were hospitalized following a grueling workout.

The three players — offensive linemen Doug Brenner and Sam Poutasi and tight end Cam McCormick — were kept in the hospital for days.

One of the players, Poutasi, was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a syndrome in which soft muscle tissue is broken down with “leakage into the blood stream of muscle contents,” according to OregonLive.com.

After hearing of the news, Thomas blasted the program and NCAA, saying whoever is responsible for the workout needs to be fired.

If you are not protecting your players and putting their health at risk, someone needs to be held accountable.

That’s a take I think everyone can agree with.
