LSU football: Travonte Valentine gets dismissed, again

Once again, the LSU football program has dismissed defensive tackle Travonte Valentine for a violation of team rules.
The team announced the news in a brief statement on Thursday morning.
“At this point in time, Travonte is no longer part of our football program,” head coach Ed Orgeron said. “We wish him the best.”
Back in 2015, Valentine was dismissed from the program for multiple failed drug tests and his inability to reach his academic requirements. He was later reinstated before the 2016 season, in which he recorded ten tackles, before failing to appear in the team’s final seven games.
When Valentine first committed to LSU, he was a top 40 recruit in the nation. The 6-foot-2, 315-pounder was the No. 6 defensive tackle in the nation in the No. 7-ranked prospect in the state of Florida.
