UCLA's Takkarist McKinley considering shoulder surgery

One of the top edge rushers in the 2017 NFL Draft is considering undergoing shoulder surgery prior to the draft.
According to reports, UCLA star Takkarist McKinley is weighing his options to repair a torn right labrum which led to his withdrawal from the Senior Bowl.
Any surgery would likely wait until after the NFL Scouting Combine and Pro Day.

Many believe McKinley will be one of the top rushers off the board and he is firmly projected as a first-round selection.
Last season, McKinley recorded 61 tackles, including 18 for a loss, ten sacks and three forced fumbles in his breakout campaign. While the shoulder injury is a minor setback, it should not have a major impact on his draft status.
The 2017 NFL Draft takes place April 27-29.
