Melo Trimble questionable vs. Rutgers with illness

Melo Trimble leads the Terrapins in scoring this season. The No. 22 ranked Maryland team has relied on his creativity with the basketball to muscle past through a schedule packed with tournament hopefuls.
They’ll have to get past Rutgers without him though, as he will be unavailable for the game.
Trimble, who missed practice on Monday because of the illness, has not yet been officially ruled out for the game tomorrow. His status is currently up in the air according to head coach Mark Turgeon.

“Melo is sick. He did not practice today,” Turgeon said. “Hopefully he’ll get better and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”

This will be no small inconvineice for the Maryland squad, as they have ridden Trimble’s hot hand often, especially lately.
Trimble netted back to back three pointers to help lift Maryland over Iowa on Thursday.
Having never missed a game in his previous two collegiate seasons, Trimble has proven his durability is not a concern, and this will likely be a short stint out of action. Despite battling both back and hamstring injuries throughout his amateur career, this will be the first time Trimble misses a game due to injury.
Rutgers won’t be pushovers, either. The Scarlet Knights sit at 12-8 and are coming of a win against Nebraska.
