The Clemson football program landed a major commitment on Thursday night.
In an announcement that took a shot at the LSU Tigers, four-star running back Travis Etienne announced he would be committing to Dabo Swinney’s squad.
“I’ll be taking my talents to the real Death Valley,” Etienne said, according to Glenn Guilbeau of KPLC. The announcement was a clear shot at LSU, which also calls its stadium Death Valley.
Etienne is the eighth-ranked player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 16 running back in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
Along with his offers from LSU and Clemson, Etienne held offers from Oregon, Houston and Mississippi State.
Clemson currently has the No. 11 recruiting class in the nation.
