The Stanford football program announced on Monday afternoon that it will be opening the 2017 season in Australia.
Stanford will face off against the Rice Owls on Aug. 26 as part of the annual College Football Sydney Cup in the Land Down Under.
The matchup had previously been rumored, but was confirmed via social media.
