Georgia State Stadium, Formerly Turner Field, To Open On Aug. 31

Georgia State Stadium is set to officially open for the Panthers’ season-opener against Tennessee State on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Season tickets are also now available.
The Panthers will be playing their home games at their new stadium, which was previously Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves. With Georgia State in search of a new home, it was perfect timing as the Braves played their last season before moving to SunTrust Park for the 2017 season.
“We are excited to be able to open the new home of Georgia State football on Aug. 31,” Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb said in a statement.
“We also look forward to our season ticket holders being able to get a first-hand glimpse of where they will sit later this year.”
Along with the home opener against Tennessee State, the Panthers will play host to conference opponents Appalachian State, Idaho, South Alabama and Troy this season.
