Wisconsin Football: Alex Hornibrook Named Starting QB

Wisconsin football coach Paul Chryst gave sophomore Alex Hornibrook a vote of confidence.
According to a report from Andy Baggot of UWInsider.com, Hornibrook is currently sitting atop the Badgers depth chart as the team’s starting quarterback entering the 2017 college football season.
“He is the guy,” Chryst said. “He knows it and he thinks it.”
While Hornibrook is currently the top signal-caller on the roster, he will have to battle two freshmen — Jack Coan and Kare Lyles — during spring ball.
But with his confidence and the backing of his coach, Hornibrook will have the chance to establish himself as the unquestioned leader.
Last season, Hornibrook threw for 1,262 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Badgers kickoff spring practice on March 14.
